The Maukonen Family Weblog is intended to be a place for meeting and exchanging information with people who bear the family name “Maukonen” or have some ancestry with that Finnish family group.

Each month, “Maukonens” (by name or ancestry) will be invited to “Comment” with updates on matters such as milestones, moves, celebrations, contact information . . . whatever.

Comments can be in Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian or English. We will manage comments to ensure that they are appropriate for a family weblog site.

In case you are curious, the flags on the header represent the countries in which known Maukonens are residing and have citizenship. It provides a bit of history about the movement of our ancestors from the origins in Finland. The flags are arranged from right to left in keeping with the geographical location of those countries.
